In order to further deepen the cooperation between the university and enterprises and explore a new mechanism for joint training of professional master’s degree students, since the beginning of 2024, Sunny Optical Research Institute and the School of Optoelectronics of Zhejiang University have jointly carried out a series of joint training activities for professional master’s degree students. They closely combine the industrial demands of Sunny Optical with the education and training of students, integrating production with education and education with industry. Through the integration of industry and education and collaborative innovation, they have jointly written a new model of joint training between the university and enterprises.
Enterprise-specific course training
On May 6th and May 13th, 2024, Sunny Optical held special lectures on AR/VR and intelligent vehicles respectively at the Yuquan Campus of Zhejiang University. Among them, in the AR/VR special session, lecturers from Sunny Optical Research Institute gave lectures on market overview, optical technology, testing and evaluation technology, etc., enabling students to have a clearer understanding of the development of the AR/VR field. Understood the importance of optical design and optical systems in the field of AR/VR, and at the same time had a clearer understanding of the test and evaluation of AR/VR effects; At the smart car special session, a lecturer from Sunny Optical Automotive Company was specially invited to give a lecture. They provided a detailed introduction and explanation on the overview of the smart car market, the optical design of in-car lenses, lidar and its optical design, as well as HUD and its optical design, enabling students to gain a thorough understanding of the practical applications of in-car lenses, lidar, and HUD in smart cars. It has sparked extensive discussions among students on how to solve the pain points of the industry.
Symposium on Joint Training between schools and enterprises
On May 23, 2024, a group of master’s students majoring in Shunyu from the School of Optoelectronics, Zhejiang University, visited the Sunny Optical Research Institute for a symposium and exchange. At the meeting, Gong Yanyun, assistant to the director of the Sunny Optical Research Institute, extended a warm welcome to the teachers and students. She elaborated on the development overview of the Sunny Optical Group and the Sunny Optical Research Institute, with a focus on sharing the current business content of the institute and the possible directions of professional master’s projects for cooperation. She expressed her determination to truly implement the integration of industry and education. In order to further explore the joint training program that meets the needs of both sides, the person in charge of the school-enterprise cooperation of Sunny Optical Group also gave a preliminary explanation of the joint training program for professional master’s degree students of Sunny Optical, and had a thorough discussion on the implementation details of the joint training program and the topics of concern to the students. Professor Liu Zhiyi from Zhejiang University expressed his hope that through the continuous integration of the industry-education demands of both sides and the continuous optimization of the joint training mechanism, the joint training program between Sunny Optical and the School of Optoelectronics of Zhejiang University could be shaped into an outstanding case of university-enterprise joint training. Everyone unanimously expressed that they would take this symposium as an opportunity to continue exploring a distinctive professional master’s joint training mechanism, empower each other, innovate together, and achieve win-win development.
Group visit and exchange
On June 15, 2024, a delegation of 22 professional master’s students from the School of Optoelectronics, Zhejiang University, visited Sunny Optical Group. They successively visited the exhibition hall and factory workshop of Sunny Optical Group. The guide gave a detailed introduction to the development history, business scope, key achievements and products of Sunny Optical. At the same time, they entered the production workshop to observe the entire process of optical lens production up close, and gained a more intuitive understanding of the process flow, technological innovation and production concept. Subsequently, the group organized an alumni symposium. At the meeting, representatives of Sunny University alumni from Zhejiang expressed their welcome to the younger students at their Alma mater, shared their growth experiences at Sunny, and actively answered various questions raised by the students regarding their professional fields and career development. This visit and exchange have enhanced the integration between the school and the enterprise, laying a solid foundation for the joint training of professional master’s degree students between the school and the enterprise.
The successful holding of the series of activities for the joint training of professional master’s degree students has strengthened the in-depth cooperation between the school and the enterprise.
